I have examined the accompanying Ordinance intituled An Ordi-
mance to amend the law relating to the registration of births and deaths
and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the
Governor's Instructions.

The object of this Ordinance is to carry out the recommendation
which was recently made by the Medical Board to the effect that it is desirable to include in any medical certificate of the cause of death a statement
as to whether any and what anaesthetic was adminis-
tered in the course of the illness preceding the death, and how long
before death.
